An exciting opportunity has been created for a Software Engineer to join within the Corporate CIO function.

As part of Corporate Digital Channels, we are responsible for a variety of customer facing applications supporting our Corporate & commercial customers. Our team create and maintain applications for the bank in various technologies using online applications (APIs, Microservices).

We are a highly motivated team with big goals, so we are looking for an individual who is truly passionate about their work and possesses the enthusiasm and aim to make big things happen.

The difference you'll make:
  • Providing technical analysis and coding skills in Java (Springboot) and Angular for all aspects of business change and on-going projects
  • Managing end-to-end from software design and development up to release to the customers, including deployments
  • Being involved in the design discussions in order to ensure the most appropriate solution and gain functional knowledge and experience in the Corporate domain
  • Understanding the wider stack of technologies used and help support developing software solutions adhering to the SDLC process
  • Liaising with Product Owners and Corporate Management teams within International & Transaction Banking business

What you'll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
  • Extensive experience as a Software Engineer focusing on Java and Spring Boot web services
  • Previous front end development experience in Angular
  • Broad experience of agile software development practices (Unit testing, TDD, CI/CD)
  • Experience of working with GitLab, GitHub, GitHub Actions workflows, Jenkins, Kubernetes

It would also be nice for you to have:
  • Good working knowledge with creating test scenarios for unit testing
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git to manage code repositories
  • Experience working with cloud environments, preferably AWS
  • Experience or understanding of developing RESTful APIs

What else you need to know:

This permanent role is based in Unity Place - Milton Keynes.

To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
