Cyber Security IT Analyst – GBP34–36K – Hybrid Manchester
Exalto Consulting are recruiting for a permanent Cyber Security IT analyst for a client, this is working hybrid in Manchester x2/3 days a week and paying up to GBP34–36K basic salary, great company to work for with a fantastic pension, must be eligible for security clearance and have UK driving licence.

About the Role:
As a Cyber Security IT Analyst, you will play a key role in monitoring and defending our IT infrastructure against potential security threats. You will use your technical expertise in cybersecurity tools, frameworks, and best practices to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Your responsibilities will include security monitoring, incident response, log analysis, and vulnerability management to ensure the resilience of our digital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, and Compliance Centre.
Analyse security logs and data to identify potential threats and take appropriate actions.
Manage and respond to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring effective resolution and learning for future mitigation.
Proactively analyse and interpret logs to detect anomalies, vulnerabilities, or potential security risks.
Stay current with cybersecurity trends and continuously improve our defences against new and evolving threats.
Work with teams across the organisation to promote and implement cybersecurity best practices.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications: Degree or significant relevant experience. Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
Experience: Previous experience in a cybersecurity role, such as a Security Analyst or Incident Responder. Hands–on experience with Microsoft security
tools and demonstrable knowledge in log analysis and security incident management.
Knowledge: In–depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint protection. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (eg, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and strong knowledge of network fundamentals and security protocols.
