JOB TITLE: Product Compliance Manager - Electrical, Medical Devices and Bathroom

REPORTS TO: Head of Materials & Sustainability

LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent. Office based

WORKING HOURS: 8am - 4.30pm

A bit about the role...

We are looking for a self-motivated Product Compliance Manager who can work with our NPD, Materials and sustainability teams. Workly closely with the head of NPD and Head of Materials and Sustainability to address technical product compliance and certification across a range of product categories such as Electrical, Medical devices, and Bathroom. For all existing and new products brought to the market, you will ensure that they comply to current standards and ensuring compliance for a global market.

You will need to provide interactive support across the design teams to ensure that compliant product is designed and manufactured. Then thoroughly test to the relevant global ISOs and market specific standards. Support compliance process development, documentation, implementation, and execution.

Demonstrate a high level of ownership of assigned matters, intellectual curiosity to solve problems and make recommendations based on self-directed research as well as a dedication to the accuracy and quality of work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and drive a robust process for the management of product compliance.
  • Develop and maintain a system and structure for the maintenance of all certification documentation and technical files.
  • Develop strong relationships and coordinate with test and certification partners for the successful execution of compliance test programs.
  • Lead and manage a small team.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate systems to manage product marking, registers, and declarations of conformity.
  • Organise and facilitate certification-related internal and external audits, working with all business functions to ensure successful outcomes and ongoing compliance with requirements.
  • Identifying upcoming global regulatory changes and notifying the business.
  • Conducting tests and studies into the company's product compliance.
  • Review manuals, data/safety labelling for products to sign off that they apply to the applicable certification.
  • Work with the supply chain to collect crucial data for suppliers.
  • Gather REACH and SVCH data.
  • Improve Logistics and Risk Management knowledge and skills in the Logistics Strategy dept.
  • To organise CE, CA and FDA marks and testing.

Requirements
  • You will have proven experience within product compliance
  • Experience working within any of these product categories; medical devices, lighting or bathroom.
  • Previous experience of effectively managing a portfolio of product certifications, ideally in medical devices or lighting or bathroom.
  • Excellent IT skills with competent use of Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook and Excel).
  • As a manager, you will be expected to lead and support the team with any issues.
  • The ability to delegate work in order to respond to daily queries within the business.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with regulatory and certification bodies.
  • A proven capability to monitor and assess the implications of new and changing regulations and standards.
  • The capability to read and interpret technical drawings and test reports.
  • Effective project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid analytical skills alongside the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to the rest of the team.
  • Experience with product testing and process analysis.
  • Well informed in current sustainability subjects and business environments
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive decision making.
  • Some international travel will be required, visiting suppliers.
