The Role
As Transport & Maintenance Compliance Manager, you'll be part of our central compliance team based at our Head Office in Measham, Derbyshire, though there will be a requirement to work from our network of 11 depots across the country.
In this role you will ensure the Company's fleet complies with all legal requirements under the Road Traffic Act, EU regulations, Construction & Use Regulations and Operators licence and ensure the fleet's availability is maximised through effective planning of maintenance and management of service providers.

The Role
As Transport & Maintenance Compliance Manager, you'll be part of our central compliance team based at our Head Office in Measham, Derbyshire, though there will be a requirement to work from our network of 11 depots across the country.
In this role you will ensure the Company's fleet complies with all legal requirements under the Road Traffic Act, EU regulations, Construction & Use Regulations and Operators licence and ensure the fleet's availability is maximised through effective planning of maintenance and management of service providers.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a multi-site vehicle fleet of up to 150 vehicles and 50 trailers and their periodic and adhoc repairs and maintenance, defect rectification, breakdowns, VOR's and spare parts replenishment
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are roadworthy and manage service providers to ensure defects, service inspections and MOTs are carried out in accordance with Operator Licence undertakings and DVSA guide to road worthiness
- Forward plan MOT and services to maintain fleet availability
- Plan the hiring, de-hiring, and maintenance of additional vehicles to meet operational demand
- Take ownership of repair and maintenance costings, invoices, and department finances, including budgeting and forward projections on repair costs
- Organise and lead fleet supplier stakeholder meetings regarding service level performance and adherence to KPIs
- Completion of weekly compliance and KPI reports and identification of performance trends and corrective actions
- Ensure that all relevant statutory laws, EU Drivers Hours Rules & Regulations, Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations, Operators Licence and OCRS obligations, FORS requirements, and all Company policies and procedures are adhered to
About you
- National CPC Holder and been previously named on an O Licence
- 8 years' experience of working in the fleet/transport industry, 3 of which should be as an operational Transport Manager in a multi-site operation
- Experience of working with EU Drivers Hours Rules & Regulations, Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations, Operators Licence, OCRS obligations and FORS requirements
- Experience of auditing transport compliance
- Experience of managing a diverse fleet including HGV, Lorry loader cranes, vans etc
- Experience of managing LGV diagnostics and maintenance
- Super User experience of Transport Systems- TMS, 3rd Party Service systems (desired)
- IRTE MSoE member (desired)
- IT proficient
- Full UK Driving license
