About the role

As the Site Electrical Manager you will lead and take responsibility across the Reckitt Nottingham Supply Site for Electrical Engineering, covering electrical strategies, legal compliance, business continuity and strategic development of electrical systems. Through the Reckitt Leadership Behaviours you will lead, support & coach the System Engineers & Electrical competent persons covering Site Electrical Maintenance and Electrical Project Engineering against functional Key Performance Indicators which contribute to the overall site performance and Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives and projects both within the department and cross functionally to ensure the performance of site with regards to electrical compliance, standards and systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the coaching and development of the team, building engagement, open communication, succession planning and enhancing capabilities
  • Develop and ensure an effective electrical training programme is in place across the site to meet legal requirements and the development of electrical engineers and site capabilities
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for site electrical trained engineers / system engineers
  • Develop effective working relationships, internally, cross functionally and with external suppliers to enable the delivery of the department & site objectives

Legal & Compliance

  • Fufil the Site Electrical Duty holder role and ensure Deputy Duty Holders are in place and supported
  • Ensure legal compliance and adherence on all electrical systems in accordance with Electricity at Work Act 1989, Reckitt Global Health & Safety Electrical Standards, Global Engineering Electrical Standards and Global Environment Energy Management Standard
  • Update and maintain the internal site Electrical standards, & Electrical elements of the URS, ensuring compliance.
  • Lead DSEAR Compex assessment, action planning and strategy for the site, working closely with cross functional leads to develop and maintain an effective framework of, procedures, controls and training programmes
  • Take the lead on FM Global Electrical Assessment reviews, findings, and corrective actions

System Management

  • Support the Environmental Site Lead in improvement activities on energy reduction, efficiency and substitution towards renewable energy sources as part of the site Environment & Sustainability targets
  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategy for electrical distribution systems across the campus, addressing compliance, obsolescence and energy management needs
  • Ensure electrical systems are maintained and do not impact site production capabilities providing a high level of availability
  • For the department take the lead on electrical procurement and maintenance contract activities to ensure the best solution & service is in place at an appropriate cost level to support the department and site P&L

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the development and implementation of the site electrical systems, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and contingency planning to be reviewed and tested on an annual basis
  • Provide electrical assessment and support on site strategic projects through the Electrical Project Engineer who will be accountable to provide direct project support

The experience we're looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in the management and leadership of engineering or maintenance staff
  • Knowledge and understanding of a pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging operations and factory services equipment and facilities
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical systems & distribution on a large factory scale
  • Knowledge and experience of Utilities equipment and energy management strategies
  • Good IT skills including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and planning software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong Commercial experience - budgetary control, procurement / financial systems, legal, contracts; Excellent negotiation skills; Experience of supplier relationship management
  • Market awareness of new technologies and opportunities

Professional Qualifications

  • Time served and ideally have a HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • High Voltage Authorised Persons Certificate
  • IOSH Electrical Safety
  • 18th edition
  • Compex - Responsible Person
  • IEMA - Certification on Environmental Management
