Hours: 40 per week - Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 with 1 hour lunch (although team currently work 07:30am - 16:00pm with ½ hour for lunch
EMCOR UK are recruiting a permanent Technical Security Engineer for one of our Blue-Chip clients to cover mainly the Heathrow area. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work in various environments with every day being different.
Your ideal location would be within a commutable distance of Heathrow. This is a static role with very minimal travel to other UK locations. It may require support for other sites across the UK (Pool car will be supplied when required and fuel card provided).
Overtime available paid at x1.5 Monday to Sunday including bank holidays.
Must be happy to work on an on-call basis supporting Heathrow and Gatwick 1 in 5 weeks on (Pool car supplied when on call). It should be noted most calls are handled during normal working hours so attendance is very infrequent out of normal hours.
Individual callouts to site are paid at time-and-a-half overtime rate, for either a minimum of 4 hours or for the total time spent (including travel door-to-door), whichever is the greater.

Role Overview:
To configure and maintain physical servers. Design and test more robust security solutions, provide support to both on-site engineers and clients. You will also be responsible to carry out system maintenance, reactive and small or extra works to, CCTV, access control and security systems when required. We would prefer someone with a strong background in CCTV & Access Control and have a good understanding of Enterprise systems.

Ensure servers and recording pools are maintained to a high standard
Fault finding
Design and solutions
Carry-out and supervise planned preventative maintenance activities
Upgrades and system repairs
Modifications in line with contract requirements
Regular communication with the supervisor and customer on Key Point Indicators, and service level agreements
Provide system repair, small works, commissioning and planned preventive maintenance activity in conjunction with EMCOR UK requests and/or site/clients requirements.
Prepare dilapidation reports on newly acquired assets and advise or recommend improvement, additions or reductions.
Provide design, support and quotation delivery in accordance with relevant British Standards.
Maintain a strong working relationship & communication between the client and EMCOR UK.
Ensure policies, procedures and standards are in place and adhered to maintain the integrity of the Contract portfolio, and that ongoing operational activities are implemented to provide high quality service to customers.
Maintain the Service Portfolio's to the highest quality standard in all areas of activity to satisfy and maintain the requirements of external quality verification.
Comply with policies relating to health, safety, security, environmental and technical compliance issues that affect customers and employees, ensuring that all rules are always adhered to and to maintain a high standard of discipline.
Ensure risk assessments are completed or reviewed for every task being carried out.
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and good working practices.
Ensure timely submission of timesheets and necessary administration paperwork, as detailed in the engineer's policies or required by the company/client.
Comply with any request for any other duties on a time-to-time basis.
Person Specification
Who you'll be:
Ideally you will be strong in CCTV & Access Control and familiar with Enterprise Systems.
Adequate knowledge of relevant British Standards with a working knowledge of NSI required standards. Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations.
Knowledge and experience of permits to work systems, method statements and risk assessments.
Advanced PC and LAN/WAN Networking skills, including OS level operation.
Health & Safety trained.
System design, surveying, estimating and quotation experience.
Understanding of asset collation and controlled program of just in time replacement.
Ensuring that all reactive works are carried out within service level agreements.
Other factors relevant to the job:
• Appropriate trade qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience of Installation, testing and maintenance of CCTV, Intruder, Intercom and Access Control systems
• Experience of fault finding
• Experience of cable containment
