Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Technical Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team and ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the business complies with all relevant food safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., BRC, HACCP), and customer requirements.
- Auditing & Inspections: Lead and manage internal and external audits (e.g., retailer, BRC, and regulatory audits), ensuring readiness and maintaining certifications.
- Technical Documentation: Oversee the management and upkeep of technical documentation, including specifications, supplier approvals, and traceability records.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate and approve suppliers from a technical and compliance perspective, ensuring raw materials meet safety and quality standards.
- Training & Development: Deliver training to internal teams on food safety, quality standards, and regulatory updates, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
- Incident Management: Manage non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation in response to product or process failures.
- Continuous Improvement: Work closely with production, R&D, and quality teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and technical enhancements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, certification bodies, and customers, providing technical expertise and ensuring clear communication on compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in a technical or compliance role within the food manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety legislation, standards (e.g., BRC, HACCP, ISO 22000), and auditing processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in handling technical documentation and quality management systems.
- Auditing qualifications (Lead Auditor in BRC, HACCP, or similar) are advantageous.
