EMEA Ethics & Compliance Lead

SUMMARY:

The EMEA Ethics and Compliance Lead, (EMEA E&C Lead) will be responsible for continuing to build a fit for purpose Ethics and Compliance program for one of the most dynamic and regulated regions. This role requires a strategic leader, who can partner closely with the commercial and supply chain leaders, while concurrently managing all the operational elements of a strong E&C program. The EMEA E&C Lead needs to be a champion of change, constantly evolving the program to ensure that monitoring, mitigation and corrective action, reflects the external environment and the risk profile of the business.

This role requires a servant leader, who can develop and manage a high performing, culturally diverse team across the EMEA region. The EMEA E&C Lead represents the region on the Global Kenvue Ethics and Compliance Leadership team and reports to the Global Head of Ethics and Compliance. The position will be in the EMEA geography, with a strong preference for the UK or the Czech Republic.

PROFILE:

  • Experienced Senior Compliance professional with a proven track record of leading dynamic, client-facing teams to drive compliant growth with a high level of independent judgment and latitude to make critical decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement strategic initiatives based on the local legal, business and market risks to enhance compliance frameworks and controls
  • Proven track record of driving change to ensure effective risk management in a dynamic, highly regulated market/region
  • Advanced executive communication and influencing skills to ensure ethical decision making across all levels of management
  • Experienced servant leader who directly and indirectly manages a culturally diverse team of Directors, Managers and Professionals
  • Ability to flex personal leadership style to effectively partner with local, regional, and global stakeholders
  • Background may include Compliance, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, or Regulatory functions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the diverse EMEA E&C team and program. Coordinates resources to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the Compliance Programs. Translating global strategies into local operational activities, based on effectively risk assessment, business activities and external regulatory trends and environment realities

• Responsible for talent acquisition, coaching and staff development. Includes close collaboration with the E&C leadership team and the Kenvue Legal and Compliance (KLC) teams

• Close collaboration across E&C and KLC to harmonize practices, establish and execute policies within the cluster and region. Ensures consistent interpretation of these policies, procedures, and standards

• Builds partnerships with senior business management in the region to ensure that they drive compliance within their organizations

• Ensures the Compliance Program framework and controls effectively prevents and/or detects violation of law, regulations, or policies, and appropriate corrective action as needed

• Advises country and regional management teams and ensures informed business decisions regarding compliance matters. Reports compliance program status to the regional Leadership Team. Active contributor and leader in the regional Leadership Team partnering with other compliance functions to provide consolidated data, governance, and visibility

• Handles ongoing risk management and assesses areas of compliance risk, establishes appropriate Management Action Plans (MAPs) and ensures routine reviews of those MAPs with appropriate escalation - as needed

• Partners with legal team to enable effective investigations of sensitive issue escalations

• Oversees the implementation of appropriate testing and monitoring programs and tracking mechanisms

• Partners with the People function and Legal to ensure that there are consistent disciplinary mechanisms in place for non-compliance (including the failure to prevent, detect, or report any non-compliance), appropriate to the nature and extent of the deviation

• Works with industry associations and other external organizations in the region to develop industry policies and standards in close cooperation with other Regional E&C Leads, to help shape the external environment

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of BA/BS required; MBA or any other advanced degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years business experience required

• A minimum of 5 years' experience and demonstrated leadership in a Compliance or relevant risk function required

• Experience with people management responsibilities with a demonstrated track record of developing talent is required

• Knowledge of the Consumer Health industry sales and marketing practices is required

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and industry standards required

Primary Location & Travel:

EMEA-UK, Czech Republic. This position may require up to 25% travel.
