About Us

We are building an innovative and fully compliant private market cryptocurrency exchange dedicated to driving the future of digital finance. Our mission is to empower individuals to participate in the crypto ecosystem safely and responsibly, without compromising on agility or innovation. As part of a growing group of companies, our Lithuanian subsidiary is at the forefront of this vision, focusing on the establishment of a secure and highly regulated exchange platform for retail and institutional investors alike.

Our parent company, headquartered in Norway, has been a pioneer in creating the private market in Web3, and our expansion into Lithuania reflects our commitment to a global, compliant, and user-centric approach. We're building this from the ground up to ensure the right balance between regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and a user-focused experience that prioritizes security and transparency.

About the Team

Our team is mission-driven and highly collaborative. We value regulatory excellence, entrepreneurial thinking, and practical problem-solving. Our team members come from diverse backgrounds in finance, law, and tech; we believe this diversity is our strength. We work closely with legal partners, compliance experts, and technology providers to build a platform that not only meets regulatory standards but also sets a new benchmark for operational excellence in the crypto space.

About the Role

As the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of our Lithuanian subsidiary, you will co-lead our company's efforts to become a registered crypto exchange operator under Lithuania's CASP regulations, and ensure we operate as a compliant crypto exchange under Lithuanian regulations and the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCa) framework. Your role will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining a culture of compliance while fostering agility and innovation.

Your primary objectives will include overseeing the implementation of compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to AML/KYC regulations, and building strong relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and support our business goals.

What You'll Do
  • Regulatory Leadership: Lead all compliance-related efforts to obtain CASP registration by June 30, 2025, serving as the primary compliance expert. You will establish and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures, working closely with the CEO with support from the parent company and legal advisors.
  • Policy Development: Develop and update internal controls, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with Lithuanian and EU regulations.
  • Risk Management: Implement robust risk management frameworks and AML/KYC procedures to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Cultural Advocacy: Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to align on strategic compliance objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor compliance effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements as regulatory landscapes evolve.

What You'll Need
  • Location: Lithuania
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree and relevant certifications preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years in regulatory compliance, ideally within the fintech or cryptocurrency sectors, with proven experience in AML/CTF.
  • Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, especially related to cryptocurrency, including MiCa, CASP, and VASP licensing.
  • Proactive and Self-Driven: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of compliance initiatives, drive progress independently, and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Effective Communicator: Skilled in engaging with stakeholders and clearly communicating complex regulatory matters, while fostering a strong compliance culture across the organization.
  • Startup Agility: An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, with a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Lithuanian.

What You'll Get in Return
  • Competitive compensation, aligned with your expertise and experience.
  • Salary: 100.000 EUR + equity in parent company
  • A leadership role with meaningful influence over the future of the crypto space.
  • Opportunities for professional development and learning within a dynamic industry.
  • The chance to work closely with international teams in Norway and Lithuania, with periodic travel opportunities to Oslo for strategic meetings and training.
